Macbook Pro M2 Activation Lock Trouble

I am considering purchasing a Macbook from ebay, the only problem is that it is currently unable to be reset because of an activation lock that says the computer is linked to another apple account and requires the ID and password. Is there a way to reset the computer to factory settings without having the information from the previous owner?

No way that I know of...

Activation Lock and Find My on Mac

Find My includes a feature called Activation Lock, which is turned on automatically when you set up Find My on your Mac. Activation Lock helps prevent anyone else from using your Mac if itʼs ever lost or stolen.
