I have what I consider to be a fast machine. See the image. 32 GB RAM. When I first got the machine I would click on an App in the Dock and the app would be displayed immediately. Now clicked on Numbers (for example) and I counted 4 seconds for the 3 spreadsheets to display. What can I do to fix this? You insights are appreciated.

It takes for me also a few seconds to open Numbers if I had closed Numbers without closing each individual spreadsheet. I assume it’s normal as the Mac has to open the application itself and then open each spreadsheet one by one.
Try closing all spreadsheets before quitting Numbers.

These are my System Settings > Desktop & Dock (in macOS Ventura 13.3.1)
Then use Numbers > Menu > Open Recent.

Try opening Excel or Word some time. I walk away while it is doing whatever it is doing at start up. I assume it is calling the mothership to verify I actually bought it. Absolutely hate it.
