iPhone stuck in SOS mode after update

Just do a soft reset on it. It’ll clear the SOS mode.

With this may people getting the same distinct result from the same procedure at the same time, clearly this is a bug.

Apple should at the very least acknowledge it while they work on a fix.

Yup! National outage for AT&T . Verizon and Cricket. My phone was in sleep mode and did not update thank goodness but my husband’s did and he and his colleagues are stuck at work with no service! Can only use WIFI. Hope they fix it soon! People are stuck without any service and that can be dangerous

SAME!! There are reports of many AT&T customers having the same SOS outage too.

It’s not because of the update. There are mass amounts of people right now that are struggling with this issue right now. I haven’t updated my phone yet and I’m experiencing the same problem.

I think this is an ATT issue, perhaps not an iPhone update issue. I’m reading that nationwide there are mass ATT outages causing problems. It might just be a coincidence the update was last night.

Restart Iphone, worked for me

If you see No Service or Searching in the status bar on your iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular), your device isn't connected to a mobile network. If you see SOS or "SOS only" in the status bar, your device can still make emergency calls.

Mine literally is doing the exact same thing after it updated last night. Is there a way to get it out of SOS and back onto cellular data? I’m connected to Wi-Fi now but about to leave for work. February 22, 2024

We realize you can still make emergency calls, but that isn’t the issue. The issue is we should have service. The update has interrupted that service. All the other phone lines that didn’t update in my house still have service. There is an issue with the update causing you to lose service. How do we fix that?

My iPhone 15 Pro all of a sudden turned SOS unable to make any calls.

I've tried all the troubleshooting given in the iPhone 15 troubleshooting.

Changed to Airplane mode on and toggled it back to off.

Restarted the device multiple times. Nothing worked.

This has happened after the latest updates.

THIS IS a CRITICAL APPLE team has to take a look at this on priority to fix it, please. Due to this I am unable to do my office work.

I’ve literally done all of the normal things myself to no avail. I’ve hard reset (powered it off with the up/down button and right side button) I’ve reset network settings, checked for “carrier updates” (I have AT&T) and still stuck on SOS mode! This is so frustrating! 😭

Yeah is there a way to fix it or by pass it cuz I know I have data I paid my bill literally two weeks ago and this started at two am this morning I really need to make calls especially to my partner who I need to help me with the baby since we’re moving this is a massive inconvenience and emergency calls only works for 911 some of us have emergencies that don’t involve 911 so that’s actually quiet useless

Mine is too, and I’m an OTR truck driver I have to have my phone to contact dispatch. This is not the first time my IPhone 15 Pro Max has started acting stupid. A few months ago my screen went dark and it took me awhile to get it to come back.

Mine is having the same issue, but I didn't even updated my phone this morning. I don't have automatic updates on, so I don't know why my phone is suddenly in SOS mode after shutting down and restarting my phone.
