My phone says sos after I just updated it. I already tried airplane mode, turning off cellular data, as well as shutting the phone off and restarting. Still no service only sos. It was fine before the update

Go into System/Cellular/Cellular Data and switch from 5G Auto or 5G Only - to LTE.
We did and got service.
But LTE still works. :)

My IPhone is also stuck in SOS mode since early this morning. Tried powering off etc etc but stuck in SOS. Sending out an SOS TO THE WORLD. Please fix my IPhone Apple…Bluetooth works, wifi works… my family is on AT&T and their phones all work. I updated to new IOS and i got SOS!
What is going on, my phone and my husbands phone are stuck on SOS which is not good for me because I have health issues. Is there a way anyone knows how to fix it or are we just stuck until ATT figures this out?
Okay I literally JUST updated my phone. I’ve been home all day. I use consumer cellular and never have had this issue before. Everything still works though. Like I’m still connected to my WiFi. And I’m able to search things up, scroll through TikTok. Is this an update thing or a service thing? I just want the SOS symbol to go away.
I'm reading reports that all but a handful of people have had service restored. And the only remaining outages are in California. Not true. Still no service for my phone/family plan. We're in Houston.

Other people have reported their service has been restored in Houston. But it may take a while for whatever the fix is to propagate across the network. You'll just need to be patient.
There are people in my office who are also on AT&T whose service was restored two hours before my service was restored. I'm sure there are billions of bits and bytes of data, traveling over relays turning on service along the way.

Verizon is not always my favorite company but today they were.

If it were that simple, various federal agencies wouldn't be investigating. No cause has yet been announced.
I’m having the same issue. It’s stuck on sos but no emergency. I can’t make calls! I tried turning off the phone and some settings are locked in a way that I didn’t set them. I didn’t think that it updated and it’s 24 hours now passed and I can’t make a call so I’ll just wait or take it to my phone carrier service store. It makes me feel suspicious.
Mine is doing the exact same thing.
My phone is doing the exact same thing after the update overnight. This is quite frustrating.
It has nothing to do with the update. Everyone at my job currently doesn’t have a working phone and NONE of us have updated our phones.
I’m having the same problem after the newest update my kids phones that are on the same plan are fine so it isn’t the service.
This did absolutely nothing to answer what the original post was asking. Literally the most copy and paste IT response if I've ever seen one. "Did you try just turning it off and back on?"
