My phone says sos after I just updated it. I already tried airplane mode, turning off cellular data, as well as shutting the phone off and restarting. Still no service only sos. It was fine before the update

Mine literally is doing the exact same thing after it updated last night. Is there a way to get it out of SOS and back onto cellular data? I’m connected to Wi-Fi now but about to leave for work. February 22, 2024

There is a massive cellular outage in the U.S. There is nothing you can do until the network issues are resolved. You can try using Wi-Fi calling.

There are people in my office who are also on AT&T whose service was restored two hours before my service was restored. I'm sure there are billions of bits and bytes of data, traveling over relays turning on service along the way.
My phone is also stuck on SOS but I haven’t done the software update yet. I’m about too bc everything else I’ve done hasn’t worked!
Im dealing with the EXACT same issue! My iPhone 14 updated last night and now this morning I have no service! Insane!

Explain why my wife’s phone in my other hand still has a signal. She doesn’t accept ios auto-updates. I do.
I think this is an ATT issue, perhaps not an iPhone update issue. I’m reading that nationwide there are mass ATT outages causing problems. It might just be a coincidence the update was last night.

AT&T is currently down completely with everyone’s phone saying SOS.
Go into System/Cellular/Cellular Data and switch from 5G Auto or 5G Only - to LTE.
We did and got service.
But LTE still works. :)
