How to fix Instagram not loading on Safari in my Mac?

Instagram pages will not load on safari for my iMac. I've tried everything.

Restarted my computer

Erased my website data

Private browsing

For some reason it will let me log into instagram but I can't access my profile or anyone else's. Every time I click on someone's profile either safari goes black or the screen doesn't load. This is very frustrating as I work as a social media manager and sometimes I need to use my desktop. Has anyone else had this problem? It just randomly started yesterday.

This is an earlier response to youarenot's solution post. It worked for me at least and hope it helps others having this problem. Updating Safari on Monterey fixed the IG issue for me after weeks with this problem.

Steps:

1) Followed youarenot's link instructions. https://browserhow.com/how-to-update-safari-without-upgrading-macos/

Initially, you're prompted an update for Monterey under "More info". I'm currently on Monterey, so I'm guessing the update is the last release of Monterey, so I did that.

2) Once the Monterey update was complete, an new update for Safari appeared in the "More Info" section. I updated that as well.

3) I restarted my computer for extra measure, and once I opened the updated Safari, I logged in to IG and it FINALLY was back to normal,

Hope this helps :).

3) Not sure if I had to but I restarted my computer anyways, and once I opened the updated Safari, I logged in to IG and it FINALLY was back to normal!!!

I just upgraded my 2015 MacBook from Mojave to Monterey. (after a few other apps required me to do so), and must say, IG is working better in Safari than ever before. If you think about it, the problem we all encountered is probably a result of IG changing it's code somewhat, coupled with running an old version of Safari, and unfortunately, it's kinda doubtful either company will address the issue. Apple has a version of Safari that does work, but requires upgrading your OS, simple as that unfortunately. If your computer is too old to upgrade from Apple, look into upgrading via Open Core. see video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-huRykhjs6g

I trust you are all well and have solved the inconveniences you have been experiencing with Instagram if not, I write to share the following regarding my recent post.

Instagram page not loading and the limited accessibility to some functions using Safari 14.1.2

This process could include other browsers which may require updating.

The issue is now solved on my part. Instagram is functioning as before using the process and the steps to consider are as follows.

Steps:-

  1. You may need to update your browser only. If this not possible, the likelihood will be your current OS.
  2. It was necessary for me update from OS Mojave, 10.14.6 to OS Monterey 12.7.4. *Product: MBPR 15, Late 2015. (This may include equally, iMac's, 2015).
  3. If and when you do update (noting the products* above) please go to Launchpad as you may need to update iMovie (to the last compatible version associated with your product) and other applications which you may be currently and using.

I hope the information above is helpful and thank all of you who kindly replied and offered assistance when I needed it.

You are very, very kind and I am grateful for your support.

I wish you all well and please do post and let me know how you get on from here.

With many thanks and kind regards.

I've got to think that this is a problem for so many more people who don't know where to complain. I have a 2017 MacBook, so 5 years newer than yours, but an upgrade is no longer supported (I'm stuck at Big Sur). We can't be the only people with laptops older than 5 years. For now, I'm keeping Chrome in my dock that I'm using for Instagram only. It's silly.
