How can I prevent my daughter from overriding Screen Time limits?

I have enabled screen time block and app limits but daughter still overrides this by choosing option to extend by 1 minute, 15 minutes etc. this reply below was given to another customer to same problem but this does not work. Please advise as not happy about this. I need complete block with NO option to extend!!!

Hello PVAcv2!

We see you are having some trouble with Screen Time being extended when time is up for the app they are using. We are happy to help! Make sure "Block at downtime" is enabled in Settings > Screen Time > Downtime. That should disable access to the app with no option to extend it when the time limit has been reached. This article has more information: Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Have a great rest of your day!

Hello Suzanne,

my name is Killian. Thank you for contacting apple support communities.

sorry to hear you cannot exercise the correct downtime rules you want to set for your Childs device.

what I can suggest is, can you please follow the steps below and let me know if this works:

Enable Block at Downtime

An easy setting to overlook when setting up Screen Time is toggling on ‘Block at Downtime.’

Follow the step below to enable it:

  • Go to Settings>Screen Time
  • Scroll to Downtime and toggle ‘Block at Downtime on’

Block at End of Limit

If your child is still using an app after the limit is reached then you need to enable Block at End of Limit. If this setting is not enabled, your child will be able to ignore the app limit suggestion-

  • Go to Settings>Screen Time>Family>Your Child’s Name.
  • Select an individual app or app category and tap NEXT.
  • Enable Block at End of Limit.

if this doesn't work, please let me know.

Thank you,

Killian.

I figured it out ! This is how you fix the “Ignore Limit “ button

Go to Downtime / ignore downtime until schedule (must be on this ) / schedule on / enter the time ( i did 7am till 11 pm ) / Block at down time (on )

this took away the option to ignore. I knew it worked because my daughter didn’t have the option and my son did. So I peiced it together with what I found here. TRY THIS ☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼

My son all the sudden has an option that says “ignore limit” then after pressing that he can “ignore limit for today.” Apple support has been no help telling me to update my and my sons iOS to the newest versions which didn’t correct the issue. This is a huge issue and concern for parents trying to limit their child from screen time. Can anyone help me fix this? I’ve done everything possible and nothing has worked.
