Instructions on How to Open a Specific Folder in the Files app with Siri Shortcuts on iPad or iPhone
I like many of you became frustrated when the Open shortcut that once allowed you to open folders in the files app is no more. However there is another way which I discovered through trial and error and it's better.
Follow these steps and you should have no issues.
- Open shortcuts
- Choose Get contents of folder as the first action(add whatever folder you want to open in the files app here)
- Choose Choose from as the second action (under choose from will automatically add whatever folder you described in the first action)
- Choose Quick look as final action
- Lastly now add to home screen
The result will be that whenever you choose this shortcut the folder will open like a table of contents of your files in that folder and you just need to press open and it will open within the files app.
