Migration Assistant not getting past "Setting Up"

The migration assistant works perfectly fine on the old Mac, but on the new one the following happens:

Opens up fine

2. Asks me to fill in my username & password

3. Closing Application & Logging out

4. Setting Up

It never moves past the setting up. Just logs me out of my user, and I need to the same thing again.

I have re-installed Sonoma 14.3.1, and done all Disk Clean-ups.

Is there anything else I can do?

Did you try an alternate backup as source...?

Use a cable connection to make the transfer.
