AirPods Max not Automatically Switching Devices after logging in and out of icloud account

I saw a now-closed post about this issue and simply wanted to share that this happened to me. The cause was the Some icloud data isn’t syncing error that had appeared when I logged back in to icloud on my computer and prevented the Airpods max to sync properly between devices. I restarted my computer, fixed that error in the settings and it worked like a charm again! What a pain though, Apple.
