Recording with a USB audio capture cable

I'm trying to record audio from a cassette player using a USB audio capture cable connected to my M1 Mac Mini. The Mac tags the cable as "USB Microphone" and the incoming audio shows up in Settings/Sound but not in Audacity, Voice Memos or Quicktime.

Did you allow it with the privacy settings?

That did it! Thank you - every option was checked - except Audacity.
