Do I need Anti Virus Software for 2015 MacBook Pro

I had a banner on the screen saying I had been infected with 5 viruses and to run a scan. When I clicked on Run Scan it said I had to pay for an upgrade. I don't have any problems with the MacBook so Do I need Anti Virus software. I've always thought that Apple devices aren't susceptible to viruses.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.7

That's a scam. Stop unwanted Notifications - Apple Community describes how they arise and how to stop them from appearing.

Don't do that, because it's a scam designed to frighten you into spending money. In exchange, you will get only more scams and more threats into spending more money. See how that works? It's very effective.

No.

Correct. A web page is not a virus. Read Effective defenses against malware and other threats - Apple Community.
