Auto shape/Snap feature not working in Books after iPadOS update

Experiencing the same after updating iPadOS 17.4. I have filed a product feedback through the following link. I encourage you to do the same.

Just updated to 17.4.1 on my ipad but the same problems still occur, this is very annoying, how can we push this problem to get fixed faster ?

Same here too after updating to ipados 17.4 my books app doesn't auto-shape or auto-straitghten my markings anymore. It's a big downgrade !

Please fix it i realy do need that feature when I'm studying my college books 😣😞

After i updated my ipad pro 2021 11inch to ipados 17.4. I can't auto-shape the thing i draw with apple pencil for example i drew arrow on my college handbook pdf and it auto-shape it to a decent and good shaped arrow but not anymore after i updated my ipados

Or i drew a line under important phrases and it auto-straitghten them into a straight line which was a very good feature but since i updated this feature is eliminated and it doesn't do that anymore

Or i drew a circle, a star , a cloud and it auto-shaped them all to the decent shape but now it doesn't do that any more .

dear Apple.inc Please fix it and bring back that feature of books .. i really do need it for my study routine. 😣😞

Just updated to 17.5 but its still NOT working

how can apple do this to us?

files app is not save enough to edit in it because it crash down too often and my notes are not saved.

books app had crash downs but always saved my last edit, so I need to get this work in books app asap!

anyone good with coding?

I just finished a 2-hour conversation with apple support, they said they will fix it and update me this Saturday. Hoping that they fix it, I am currently using the files app (it still works here) to open my pdfs

I also have this problem. I can’t create any window or door with autoshape feature.

I’m having this issue as well, and it’s a real nuisance as I’m a student who uses Books to annotate PDFs when I’m studying. I’m considering using Notes instead, but Notes doesn’t have a bookmark function which is super useful for longer PDF books. I’ve sent product feedback too, hopefully it’ll be dealt with soon because it seems odd when Markup in Notes and Files both have snap to shape.
