My friends and I are going on a trip and will probably use an iCloud Album to share photos. Am I going to get a notification when they save photos from the album that I uploaded? And vice-versa for me saving pics they uploaded, etc.?
Just curious what the default is because I haven’t really found anything to tell me

What kind of iCloud album are you planning to use? A Shared album?
When I share a photo in a Shared album, the Recipient will see a red badge on the icon of the Photos.app son the iPhone or in the Dock on a Mac. There will also be badge on the Activity album to signal a new photo or a new comment in the Shared album.
On my iPhone I am seeing a new photos in the Shared album announces like this on the Home Screen:
