Opening older used iphone

Hello,

So I bought an old used (wiped) iphone 12 on ebay. Not for call/text use, just for my daughter to tether off me so she can watch her youtube videos on long drives. When I received the phone, it asked for a passcode. The seller gave me his, but it was a six digit that didnt work. Mine is four digits anyway. What am I supposed to do?

Best option.....return the phone for a refund. Next best...... ask the seller to do what they should have done....before.....they sold the phone.

When the phone has been reset correctly by the original owner, the phone will power up to the "hello" screen. Otherwise, the phone will never operate correctly.
