SF Symbols animation in Final Cut Pro

Hello,

Can someone please explain or refer me to a tutorial that I can look

up to understand how to add animations made in the SF Symbols app in

Final Cut Pro?

I would appreciate your help.

Thank you for drawing my attention to this. I was not aware of the SF Symbols application.

I downloaded it without issue, and I can now easily use any of these symbols in FCP.

Just add a title, and either copy and paste or, even better, drag the symbol to the text.

FWIW, I did not manually download any fonts. Maybe this has changed in the interim, as the current version is much newer than the one in the video.

I don't understand what you mean by the "animations". AFAICT, SF Symbols just provides access to these thousands of symbols, and offers no options for animation.

Perhaps if you can give us an example of the sort of animation that you have in mind we can have a better idea of how it can be achieved.

It looks to me like the SF Symbols app works like Font Book. You can copy symbols from the app and paste them in text objects in Final Cut, but you MUST have the San Francisco font installed and applied as the Font for the Title in FCP in order for the symbols to appear (the font should already be installed in any later version of OSX.)

Thank you for your response and attempt to assist. I had previously viewed this video when I first began utilizing symbols. Currently, I am curious about obtaining the animations that the SF Symbols app provides. I am aware that I can simply copy the code, but I am trying to figure out how to incorporate that code into either Final Cut Pro or Apple Motion.

Thanks anyway,

Pedja

Thank you for joining the chat.

I know how to copy and use symbols from the font box, but I'm unsure about doing the same with animations. I recently watched a video about the animations from the SF Symbols app. Here's the video I'm referring to.

Anyway, it's not clear how to copy a code to Motion or FCP.

I would appreciate any additional guidance.
