How to fix CD Import issues on Mac mini?
I bought a Mac Mini and Display 6 months ago. I hooked up a disc player to it that I bought in early 2021. I started playing the music I'd uploaded on my old iMac, as well as importing lots of CDs, and cleaning up my iTunes music library. It all worked great. Then, about 3 weeks ago, it stopped playing music and would not import my CDs (all of which were bought, not bootlegged, or burned on a blank disc from other computers). I keep getting the message "Error occurred while converting the file 'Name of Song'. An unknown error occurred (-54)." At first, I assumed my disc was corrupted, and tried another CD. But then, after trying 3 or 4 different discs and getting the same message, I figured that wasn't the problem. So I restarted my Mac Mini. No luck. I checked all the connections. No luck. I unplugged the Mac Mini then plugged it in again. No luck. So then I figured maybe the disc player wasn't working, and bought a new Apple USB SuperDrive. Still no luck. I called Apple Support today. They told me to update my system. I was running on Sonoma 14.3.1 and now I'm running on Sonoma 14.4. Still the same error message. Apple also told me if updating the system didn't solve the problem to try this forum. Any ideas, anyone? Thanks.
