Whatsapp App not linking to Whatsapp Desktop

Hello there,


I cannot get my whatsapp (ip 15 pro max) to link to whatsapp desktop(windows).

It always appears error and reverts back to first page that have to click get started.

But I can link to whatsapp web and android phone.

I'm sure it's not internet connection problem, because I use the same wifi connection for all device.


Have tried everything including deleting current versions and reinstalling. Both on iphone and desktop.

I have tried to link another phone to the same whatsapp desktop and it worked, I have tried another whatsapp desktop from another laptop also the same issue can't connect. so what is the issue?


PLEASE HELP!

I'm encountering the same error here! I just switched from an Android phone to an iPhone 15 Pro Max, and now the desktop app isn't working. It worked just fine with my Android phone. I had to transfer the WhatsApp data from the Android to the iPhone; could that somehow be the problem?

I am having the same problem as well. I was linking WhatsApp desktop from my Android and it was working smoothly. But when I switched to iPhone only the web one was working. It is so frustrating. WhatsApp/Apple Please look into this and solve the problem

Hay Apple and WhatsApp Support team,


I switched from Samsung android Phone to iPhone 15 Pro max and I'm facing the same issue here every time I try to link WhatsApp to my PC, knowing that It was working perfectly with android Samsung phone.

You should release an update very soon to fix this issue.

My iPhone: 15 pro max.

My PC OS: Windows 11 Home.

Took me several tries to get by the awful WhatsApp support robot but I was finally able to report the error to WhatsApp and they are aware. I'm guessing this will be fixed in the next release. In the meantime, WhatsApp Web will work as a workaround (https://web.whatsapp.com/).


This was their official answer yesterday:

This is a follow-up to today's message - There was a new version of WhatsApp for Windows published an hour ago and the issue with the iPhone 15 has been resolved!


The version published was 2.2413.1.0 and you can update it via Microsoft Store (if it hasn't updated automatically already). I'm already linked and back to work.

I had Android (S21) and switched to iPhone 15 Pro Max and I have been unable to connect to the desktop app. I have literally tried everything. I uninstalled the windows app and redownloaded, I tried downloading earlier versions of the desktop app, I've erased my iphone and reinstalled using the Move to iOS app, and I tried a fresh install using my iPad instead of the Move to iOS app and backed up my chat history from iCloud so it was a clean apple install, and nothing has worked.


What's interesting is, I was able to connect to my gf new Macbook Pro with no problem, and I'm also able to connect if I reinstall the app and without backing up my chat history, so restoring the chat history seems to be the issue.


If anyone finds a solution, please let us know!
