Whatsapp App not linking to Whatsapp Desktop

The same issue is with iphone 12 pro max too.

And no one from support either of whats app or apple is owning the issue.

Both of them is saying that they please reach out to other.

but unable login thru WhatsApp Web app for desktop.

Has anyone tried switching Whatsapp to an Android phone, using the "Link account" feature on the iphone and then linking to the windows app? Seems very cumbersome but wondering if it would work?

I have the same error, i am just using WhatsApp web now instead of the desktop app.

This problem can only be solved if you are using that WhatsApp account without restoring the chat backup on your Iphone.

Has a solution to this issue been found yet?

Same problem here. I tried contacting WhatsApp support, but it didn't go anywhere; they just referred me to some articles.

As Kurtosis12 suggested I have contacted WhatsApp... I will update here with their response within 3 days.

An error always appears and reverts back to first page to get started again.

However it works with with my old android phone.

OMG been trying all day but very weird as 2 weeks ago no problem with the quick scan on new iPhone 15 plus to MacBook Air M1. However now WhatsApp personal won't link (just lost all on MacBook) however WhatsApp business is still OK.

Seems to be working from the QR scan (worked for me today)

HOWEVER: if you have the iOS display zoom setting in iPhone set to "zoomed" the WhatsApp [Link Device] button does NOT function. Need to set your display settings to "standard" for zoom level.

I hope that might help someone because it's a pretty obscure bug. Have reported to WhatsApp support, hopefully it gets fixed in a future release :)

Just to confirm same story here: changed from Android to iPhone 13 Pro yesterday, and WhatsApp desktop on Windows stopped working. Notably, WhatsApp desktop on my Macbook Pro does work, so clearly it's an Apple/Windows thing.

Bro, I am encountering the same issue. I recently switched to an iPhone 13 pro from my Android, and I have been facing this issue since then. I am getting frustrated as it has been weeks and WhatsApp has even rolled out new versions of the app (even on the phone) but still facing it. As a result, I have to use WhatsApp web...

I have iPhone 13 pro and the latest versions on both the desktop and the phone, and yet.. to nobody`s surprise.. it still doesn`t work. I have been trying for the last week and a half and it still does not work.. I still need some help
