Download for Mountain Lion on Apple site is not 10.8; it's a 10.7.1 update!!!

Hello,

I need to update an older system to macOS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5; however...

The 4.45GB file posted as the "Mac OS X Mountain Lion Installer", (at Mac OS X Mountain Lion Installer - Apple Support), is not "as advertised".

It is actually an update (from macOS X Lion 10.7 to macOS X Lion 10.7.1), NOT the complete install version of macOS X Mountain Lion 10.8; (I get the same results no matter how many times I try to install that package on my system running macOS X Lion 10.7.1, and yes... the system is capable of running 10.8.5, even up to macOS X El Capitan 10.11).

I need the "real" macOS X Mountain Lion 10.8 "complete" installer to update from macOS X Lion 10.7.1 to macOS X Mountain Lion 10.8; (I have the combo update from 10.8 to 10.8.5 already, but it's obviously not a complete install).

I've submitted a case to Apple, but since the OS is no longer supported, I was told it would take a week or more to resolve.

Does anyone have (and/or know where I can download) the "complete" Mac OS X Mountain Lion Installer v10.8, (not the 4.45 GB "imposter"), so I can move on with my project? I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

Thanks!

Dave
