Customize foto albums

I would like to use “albums” in Foto’s as an e-photo book. I know I can arrange photos in “albums” and show them one by one, but what I would like is making real pages with different fotos (in different sizes etc.) and possibility to ad some text. It is not my intention to print the photo book but present e-book at my iMac, iPad and iPhone. Can anyone give me some advise?

The easiest way to create an eBook on your Mac would be to use Pages or Keynote. Both apps are coming for free with a Mac.


  • With Keynote it is easy to create a slideshow with some text and large pictures or videos on a slide and to control the the transitions and add a background sound track.
  • With Pages you can create a book with a table of contents, with chapters and sections and longer text paragraphs between the photos. And also add videos and Live Photos. I am using mostly Pages, when I want to create a photo book with comments. It is fun to see the Live Photos come alive on the book pages, particularly landscape photos with waterfalls or the surf rolling onto the beach. I export the finished book in the epub format to be able to read it in the Books.app on my Mac, my iPhone, and my iPad. For friends and family without an Apple Device I export it as a PDF, but then the Live Photos may no longer be alive.
