IOS 17.4.1 update temporarily unavailable

I have an 11 pro max, I tried updating to 17.4.1, and i am met with “unable to verify update, update is temporarily unavailable” i inadvertently left my vpn on when i tapped on update now, i’m not if that is what caused the problem. I tried everything: redownloading the update, deleting the vpn app, restarting my phone, resetting my network settings, leaving to “update tonight” the only i haven’t fully tried is the apple devices app because it downloaded the update but now is asking me for a backup that takes forever. Please help
