Managing Podcast Queue between Phone and Watch.

I find it difficult to listen to podcasts while running/working out because the episodes downloaded to watch are old and/or I've already listened to them on my phone. I don't see an option to manage which specific episodes of podcasts are downloaded to the watch.

If an episode has been downloaded to my watch, I think it should be removed if it's been listened to on another device. This seems it would be a relatively common issue for users, so I'm presuming I'm not doing something right. What am I missing?

Podcasts on Apple Watch: Getting the latest episodes Hi, I am trying to get my watch to sync the latest podcast episodes I have selected on my iphone (Iphone>watch app>podcasts>custom...then I selected all the shows I want to sync). The watch does sync the selected shows, but NOT the latest episodes (which is what I want). It seems to get tripped up if I listen to part of an older episode downloaded onto my watch. Here's an example: a podcast I listen to has released episodes on the following dates: 5/4, 4/27, 4/20 and 4/13. The 5/4 episode is not on my watch as a download (despite the fact that today is 5/7 and I've sync'd multiple times since then). But the other 3 are. I think this is because I'm half way through the 4/13 episode - which is why I say the sync gets "tripped up" - it doesn't want to remove that episode until I'm done - which I dont care about). So again: How can I get the latest podcast episodes to sync? If there is no other option: I'm thinking maybe I can completely remove all podcasts from my watch every so often and resync - does anyone know the best/fastest way to do this? Thanks, Max

Manually manage podcasts downloaded to Apple Watch I recently got a Series 3 Apple Watch, and I'd like to use it to listen to podcasts while I run. Desired behavior: Manually manage the episodes that are downloaded to my watch. I can do this on my phone by pressing the "+" button next to a given episode, and then the "cloud" button. But there doesn't seem to be a way to do this on the watch. My watch is synced to my iPhone, and I have the option of selecting either: Up Next, which will download the episode that my phone thinks is "up next" for up to 10 podcasts, or Custom, which will download as many episodes as possible for shows that I select. Is there any way I can just manually pick the episodes I want downloaded to my watch, instead of Apple trying to figure this out for me? Or, if not, how can I view the episodes that are currently downloaded on the watch? Thanks!

Podcasts stop playing on Watch Series 4 At the gym, I can't get a podcast episode to play all the way through. I'm using my Watch series 4 (cellular connection) without an iOS device, and, yes, I have subscribed to the podcast on my phone (the only podcast I subscribe to). So the podcast episode should just play, but it keeps stopping, as if the watch has run out of buffering space. Also, the Watch does not play podcasts in order -- especially if the podcast has multiple seasons or "bonus episodes" that I don't want to hear (special episodes featuring listeners asking questions--no thanks). Is there a way to eliminate old or bonus episodes that I NEVER want to listen to? Seems like the Podcasts app wants to force me to listen to everything in some weird abstract order, and then when I choose my own order (to skip the extraneous content/season 1 episodes), the episode I need has not been loaded onto the watch. I really need a way to manually choose which episodes appear on my watch -- to eliminate the stuff I don't care about.
