Additional 17.4 and 17.4.1 problems

Hello, I’m having issues ever since I started downloading 17.4 and 17.4.1 iOS updates for the iPhone 13 mini I have experience nothing but a long list of problems that make my phone unusable like crashing overheating battery drain even if I turn off all the settings, even if I put on airplane mode Compatibility with other devices Wi-Fi messing up Bluetooth messing up not detecting a Sim card or an eSIM card or even my back up Sim card everything is updated on the phone, but it has nothing but problems ever since the day of the 14.1 update which I did about a week ago And to me, it seems very strange that they would prompt me to download this update called a critical update for security but now my phone is least secure. It’s not working at all and still obviously having tons of issues. Cannot stay connected to anything from the update and 17.4.1 was supposed to fix this, but has been effective for my phone. It doesn’t seem like there’s really anyone to talk to you. I’ve I’ve done basically everything you possibly can to try to get it to work on the phone , it’s not doing it. The only other option is to revert back to a different iOS update like iOS 17.3 or something before this I believe I would have to have a computer to do that which I don’t have. Does anyone have any recommendations? does anyone else think that this might Cause permanent damage to the phone does anyone else consider that it would seem hard to release this type of update that could be so severe and tell everyone is so critical to download without intention phones could be tested and labeled that critical just cause all these issues seems very strange it’s happening to way too many people to coincidence my typing doesn’t have any punctuation because I cannot actually use the keyboard on my phone because I’m having keyboard issues as well if I try to either switch keyboards or use the number button or the tab button on the phone it will cause it to delete what I’m typing or choose to randomly put dashes or just switch keyboards even when I’m not trying to, so I have to use the speech to text option. Has iPhone announced any compensation for downtime and for the problems or permanent damage may cause to the devices?

I have the same problems…. Pretty much a worthless phone. Mines a 13Pro Max and after 17.4.1 I’ve experienced all kinds of problems. Battery discharge is from 100% to shut off 45 minutes to 1 hour. Phone gets EXTREMELY HOT, and I could use it as a hand warmer. Freezes up, crashes, very slow, keeps turning cell and data off, sound issues( can barely hear), won’t auto rotate and gets stuck on the side, when changing screens I will get a reverse flash. I’ve also had issues with my Appointments I had on my calendar as they were deleted and I’ve missed some.

VERY FRUSTRATING situation and not wanting to get a new phone but seems like Apple denies any part of my issues and zero support or solutions.

Any ideas???

I just received a new 15 pro today, from a 14 Pro and experiencing same issues as my last post in this thread.

Waiting for an update from Apple and heading back to carrier to return this 15 Pro. New phone did not fix issue cellular data issues that came with IOS17.4.1. Previously phone worked fine, others on same plan work fine as well.

The carrier has confirmed no issues on their end multiple times see previous post for troubleshooting steps taken. Apple support has been no help so far. Hoping we find a solution soon.

ME!!!! My phone did the automatic update overnight and ever since then my phone will not connect to cellular data. I have been on the phone with Apple and my carrier ALL morning with the same responses. Neither shows any issues on their end and doesn't know how to fix it. We have done all the steps you mentioned above and NOTHING. It is so frustrating. I NEVER do automatic updates and this is exactly why!! I asked about uninstalling the update but they didn't seem like that was an option.

I've also tried everything. Apple ran diagnose and said it was a hardware issue and had nothing to do with the update. When I put my SIM in another phone, SIM worked just fine. Also tried settings and all on my phone. Eventually I connected my phone to Itunes on my computer. My computer informed me that I needed the update that was already on my phone and not available on my phone anymore. So I ran the update from the computer. First it said no sim. Then I ejected SIM and put it back in and I finally am now up and running again. Truly hope this helps others persons as well.

I am on 12 pro max. I am experiencing issues with the Apple files app.

it is not responding when opened, only a white screen. In that screen, nothing will work, not even buttons, screenshots or even power off. Only upon exiting the app completely the phone will regain normal use.

any other apps that require to browse the files such as attachments, no files will be able to show up for selection. Sometimes it will cause the other apps to hang too.

anyone has similar issue? Any workarounds?

thanks.

After theAfter installing the latest iOS update, my iPhone 13 does not connect with the provider, I spent 7 hours trying to solve it with the provider, everything was tried but nothing works, they sent me to Apple and they say that the phone is fine and the provider says that the problem It's because the phone doesn't let you install the sim card or the eSIM. I am considering not using iPhone anymore

I have the same issue with 17.4.1 update. I have iPhone 13 Pro, and my front camera is broken but I used to be able to use Face ID without using front camera to unlock my phone. Since I updated my phone to 17.4 I could not use Face ID anymore and turned back to passcode. Also, I have an issue with the flash light that I can’t turn it on when the screen is locked. And even after I unlock the phone still have issues with turning the flash light on. The back camera is working fine but every time I try to use the back camera, all I got is black screen. I’m asking myself every day why did I update my iPhone to the latest version. This really sucks and I hope it can be fixed soon!

I’m on a 12 Pro Max with all the same issues. So frustrating! I’ve also tried everything mentioned in these posts all the way to wiping the phone completely and force updating using my iMac. The first update completely failed. Probably lucky that it didn’t brick the phone, but hey it may as well be bricked because it’s basically not functional. Second update was successful and helped ‘mostly’ for about a week when the same issues started cropping back up. And sitting here typing this and the screen backlight goes dim for a while then bright for a while even though I’m sitting in a consistently lit area. Come on Apple, you’re better than this!
