Additional 17.4 and 17.4.1 problems

Hello, I’m having issues ever since I started downloading 17.4 and 17.4.1 iOS updates for the iPhone 13 mini I have experience nothing but a long list of problems that make my phone unusable like crashing overheating battery drain even if I turn off all the settings, even if I put on airplane mode Compatibility with other devices Wi-Fi messing up Bluetooth messing up not detecting a Sim card or an eSIM card or even my back up Sim card everything is updated on the phone, but it has nothing but problems ever since the day of the 14.1 update which I did about a week ago And to me, it seems very strange that they would prompt me to download this update called a critical update for security but now my phone is least secure. It’s not working at all and still obviously having tons of issues. Cannot stay connected to anything from the update and 17.4.1 was supposed to fix this, but has been effective for my phone. It doesn’t seem like there’s really anyone to talk to you. I’ve I’ve done basically everything you possibly can to try to get it to work on the phone , it’s not doing it. The only other option is to revert back to a different iOS update like iOS 17.3 or something before this I believe I would have to have a computer to do that which I don’t have. Does anyone have any recommendations? does anyone else think that this might Cause permanent damage to the phone does anyone else consider that it would seem hard to release this type of update that could be so severe and tell everyone is so critical to download without intention phones could be tested and labeled that critical just cause all these issues seems very strange it’s happening to way too many people to coincidence my typing doesn’t have any punctuation because I cannot actually use the keyboard on my phone because I’m having keyboard issues as well if I try to either switch keyboards or use the number button or the tab button on the phone it will cause it to delete what I’m typing or choose to randomly put dashes or just switch keyboards even when I’m not trying to, so I have to use the speech to text option. Has iPhone announced any compensation for downtime and for the problems or permanent damage may cause to the devices?

I've also tried everything. Apple ran diagnose and said it was a hardware issue and had nothing to do with the update. When I put my SIM in another phone, SIM worked just fine. Also tried settings and all on my phone. Eventually I connected my phone to Itunes on my computer. My computer informed me that I needed the update that was already on my phone and not available on my phone anymore. So I ran the update from the computer. First it said no sim. Then I ejected SIM and put it back in and I finally am now up and running again. Truly hope this helps others persons as well.

I have the same issue with 17.4.1 update. I have iPhone 13 Pro, and my front camera is broken but I used to be able to use Face ID without using front camera to unlock my phone. Since I updated my phone to 17.4 I could not use Face ID anymore and turned back to passcode. Also, I have an issue with the flash light that I can’t turn it on when the screen is locked. And even after I unlock the phone still have issues with turning the flash light on. The back camera is working fine but every time I try to use the back camera, all I got is black screen. I’m asking myself every day why did I update my iPhone to the latest version. This really sucks and I hope it can be fixed soon!

I’m on a 12 Pro Max with all the same issues. So frustrating! I’ve also tried everything mentioned in these posts all the way to wiping the phone completely and force updating using my iMac. The first update completely failed. Probably lucky that it didn’t brick the phone, but hey it may as well be bricked because it’s basically not functional. Second update was successful and helped ‘mostly’ for about a week when the same issues started cropping back up. And sitting here typing this and the screen backlight goes dim for a while then bright for a while even though I’m sitting in a consistently lit area. Come on Apple, you’re better than this!

I have SE 2022. My mail stopped working and I now have to log in web-based… very unproductive.

also, when I open a message from another provider, I get the reply address of some other dis related email. After I read it and re access it, it reverts to the proper address.

also the sound on my phone is randomly turning on and off.

i am usually very easy going and can be very patient with such errors and wait for them to update, but I can’t tolerate this for more than a week with nothing being done about it and no news from the devs. What to do?

I too am having awful issues after this update and it was literally noticeable, as in almost instantly. I have an I phone 11 pro max and it won’t charge now. And I’ve had people saying “it’s old” or “the battery is bad” but it worked literally perfect and had great battery health. Never had issues before this update. ZERO. Now I wake up from my phone charging all night and it has done nothing but down a few to a handful of percentages. I had to turn my phone off and turn it back on to get it t start charging. Sometimes having to restart the phone multiple times before it will start charging. I’ve used regular cables as well as lightening charges. This is extremely frustrating and I feel like a lot of people are very upset with this and other issues I’ve been seeing as well.

For the first time in 12 years I hate my iPhone. Ever since I was forced to download iOS 17.4.1 my phone has had constant problems from erasing all my contacts, voicemails, blinking screens, changing up all my notes. Putting my Safari into private browsing mode. My microphone will either stay on all the time or won’t come on at all after multiple attempts. Draining battery. These iOS upgrades are actually downgrades and are creating more bugs. Get it together or you’re going to lose your loyal customer base.
