Alarm clock and playlists

On my iPhone, I have been looking for a way to set my alarm clock to play a specific playlist.

I'm new to Apple and I could never figure how to. I downloaded many apps which filled my devices with bugs. I don't like this clutter.

I just realized, may be it's a new thing with Sonoma (March, 2024) because I managed to transfer a song to my iPhone through Apple Music,

or that I just signed up for a free trial with Apple Music that I can assign playlists to my alarm clock and they can move between my Mac and iPhone.

Anyhow, I'm very happy. :)

My question is:

Does this Apple Music keep playing even when I'm not "Subscribed" to it?

And will Alarm Clock have the capacity to allow my downloaded (may be not purchased through Apple but, downloaded by me to my iPhone) music to keep playing ?

I would like to know, so I can set up my system accordingly.

Thank you.

If you stop paying for Apple Music, you will lose access to all Apple Music tracks. Yes, you can use music that you "own", not from Apple Music for your iPhone alarm. But I don't recommend it either. Problems with the alarm function on the iPhone often trace back to using music as the sound.
