I was editing a video when QuickTime quit unexpectedly. I tried to restart many times and the app keeps crashing with the same error condition. The file I was editing at the original crash is nowhere to be found. I tried restarting the MacBook Air to no avail. The condition persists even after a couple of MacOS updates.

I am having the same issue except with regular .mp4 video playback. I cannot use my mouse, and I have had to hard shut down several times. So I would be glad to hear any feedback on this issue.

In my case I was editing a .mov file and had not yet saved the file. That's about all I can add. I also tried clearing cache memory. I haven't found any to reinstall Quicktime. It doesn't appear in the App Store.
