Dual SIM iPhone SE third edition

I chose this new phone prior to a trip to NZ for two weeks and OZ for two weeks. My UK phone number was set up on the eSIM and I purchased a physical SIM for NZ then a physical SIM for Oz. All worked according to plan, but when I returned to the UK I found a roaming day charge of £6.85 old be none? on my UK account for one of the days in NZ, for using 152Kbytes.There was no other charge on any of the days in the four weeks I was away. Why did I incur this charge, having taken all steps to ensure there would be none. What are my chances of a refund?

Unless you turned “off” your UK eSIM line (From within: Settings -> Mobile -> eSIMs)

Axel’s hypothesis seems a very plausible explanation.

Additionally, Setting a PIN on your eSIM(s) is another way to positively ensure that any particular line remains disabled w/o your explicit approval.

It appears that the UK service provider (eSIM) charged you for roaming. There must have been a service drop in NZ for a brief moment (152Kbytes can be consumed within seconds) and your UK (eSIM) line must have picked up the slack as a roaming service. This is very difficult to explain.

Your best bet is to question the cellular service provider that charged you (UK eSIM) and ask them for a refund.
