Cellular network off after 17.4.1 update

Last night I updated to the most recent version, 17.4.1, and today my cellular network suddenly dropped and quit working. I tried everything I could think of, restarting, turning airplane mode on for a bit and back off, etc. nothing. So I called my carrier, AT&T and two different people could not figure out why my phone wouldn’t work.

I figure it was the update. Now when I go into general in settings and about, I get the pop up that I need to update my carrier settings but when I click update, it closes the window and does nothing. I NEED my phone for work and I’m getting nowhere. I’m hoping someone else has this issue or at least Apple knows what they messed up and will release a fix soon because I need to be able to make calls and right now my phone makes no calls unless it’s through Facebook messenger over WiFi.

Help!? Anyone?

We support several Private LTE (Band 48) networks and with new iPad 6 Mini’s deployed with factory installed 17.4 iOS, devices connect to the private cellular network, network system admin can see that devices are connected successfully, though, any App attempting to access the internet, receives a “Not Connected to Internet” error. Updating an iPhone 13 Pro from 16.6 code (working on network) to 17.4.1 code creates the connectivity issues. AT&T connectivity works without issues, just Private LTE (Band 48) on this end.

i believe the latest iOS releases are blocking certain frequencies and network IDs being exchanged with your cellular service provider. That is why, iPhone keeps searching for cellular service.

I fixed this issue by getting the latest physical SIM from my cellular service provider and inserting it in my iPhone. If your iPhone supports eSIM, delete it and revert back to latest physical SIM.

hope this helps!

Verizon iphone 13 Max Pro, same issue, lost service after update. I had a heck of time trying to get it back working, I tried everything, even erasing and restoring the phone and it still had the "SOS". My solution was to completely remove sim card and use the internal e-sim card. You'll need to call the carrier for them to switch it to the built in internal e-sim card. Hope this helps.

Just had to deal with the same issues after the last update 17.4.1 I lost cellular service and my SIM card wasn’t working for the past two days dealing with an SOS message on the top right screen my phone wasn’t working at all no calls, text, or emails had to call Verizon they sent me to the Verizon shop where they swapped out the old sim with a new SIM card seem like that was the issue everything was working fine until the next day my phone started operating into the SOS mode with no cellular service called Verizon again and spoke with a customers service rep who suggested I do a eSIM instead of a an old sim. Was very frustrating not to receive and make phone calls or text messages for the past two days it seems to be working after they did the eSIM just make sure they take out the old SIM card before installing the eSIM. Thanks Apple 😡 for having to deal with this frustrating matter for the past two days.

I FOUND A SOLUTION THAT WORKED FOR ME!!!

So my husband suggest I factory reset my phone as a last resort and you can do that and still keep the eSIM. I went ahead and reset my whole phone, made sure to save a backup at first. I figured doing that would also restore whatever issue was interfering with my cell data but I also decided it couldn't get any worse. However, it WORKED! I don't know if it will fix everyone's issue, but it worked for me! Maybe it will help someone else?

I have a 11 Pro Max and after iOS update same issue like most here. Not using eSIM but physical SIM card. Done Reset Factory settings and still same Mobile Service:Error.

Attempted Erase all Contents and Settings but failed as iPhone doesn’t have any network service. I’m stuck, anyone similar issue like me and succeed to get back to work? Thanks
