Getting this message when im trying to delete files/pictures "The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “123 copy.HEIC” can’t be read or written. (Error code -36)"

Hello, I airdropped pictures from my iphone to my studio mac and when i try to delete the pictures as i didnt need it on my computer anymore i get this message, "The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “123 copy.HEIC” can’t be read or written.

(Error code -36)". Im stuck and i dont know how to get rid of it. I couldnt find anything on the web that would help me with this problem. thanks!

Error -36 means that it can't make sense of the file for some reason.

Pressing "option" while emptying the trash sometimes works.

Restarting almost always works. If not, try starting in Safe Mode. Safe Mode is different for different computers, so see this:

Try the same things. Safe Mode fixes some things and stop some things from interfering.

"It doesn't let me drag the items in trash"

So what happens, exactly? Do they bounce back, or what? Where is this file-- in Downloads? Can you drag the picture to the desktop? Can you open the picture in Preview? What do you find when you click on the file and open the info window, command-i? Can you include a screenshot?

It doesn't let me drag the items in trash for me to have the option of pressing "option". i tried restarting it the problem is still there.

what do i do when im in safe mode?
