How to restore mobile data functionality post iOS 17.4.1 update

So my phone just updated automatically in the night as usual but now I cannot connect to anything. I’ve done all the resets you can think of to fix it and my WiFi just won’t work and even my mobile data won’t work properly??? Has this happened for anyone else?? I don’t know how to fix it at this point I might have to take it to someone to try fix it…

After Speaking to Apple and AT&T for a few hours and trying many of the same solutions that people suggested:

  • Airplane mode
  • Restart Phone
  • Reset Network settings
  • Refresh Connection (AT&T Dashboard)
  • Delete eSIM and add new eSIM

I was told that factory reset may be the only possible option, and it seems to have worked>

I deleted all data but kept the eSIM and then restored from the most recent iCloud backup. As the backup is now populating the data back onto the device I was successfully able to make an outgoing call, and my number shows up in the iMessage settings as before.

Strange, because the iOS is still 17.4.1,

BUT THIS SEEMED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

…. and since the update I’m finding that the appearance of mail has changed negatively on both the iPad and the iPhone. In particular, when I press to reply to an incoming email, the reply window that comes up is now a small window within the original screen. I find that if I press on the 3 dots at the top of the reply window I can select ‘full screen’, but I don’t want to have to do this every time, and when my reply has been sent, it reverts to the small window next time! Also, the text size of the incoming message is smaller than it used to be. Now Apple, this, and all the other problems which people are mentioning, certainly need to be sorted out. Sent from my iPad

It surely IS a problem by IOS. My phone was working completely fine until it updated to 17.4.1 (21E236). My cellular data just show LTE now !!! And the only way I can access internet now is by Wi-Fi ! I paid for this piece of… I expect optimalised and tested updates. Not updates that ruin the most basic functions of my phone. Gonna switch to Android asap.

I’ve done everything every one else has done. Nothing’s worked. This update went live on my phone overnight and has completely destroyed me cellular. Not even getting a new Esim like others have suggested from my carrier worked. After dealing with my carrier, apples ultimate solution was to have me bring it in to a technician and of course there’s no availability until tomorrow evening. This is customer service nowadays for you folks. Have an issue with their products or how they do things? Too bad. Theres only 2 phone companies to pick from. The consumer is a clown to these people nowadays. This company has been in a tailspin since steve jobs died. Each new iphone is more devoid of originality and ingenuity than the last. Updates forced upon you that break your phone. If anybody discovers a solution, please let us know. Sorry we all have to deal with this.

Most of what I see here happened a month ago! Is there still no fix from Apple? I had the auto update go through last weekend and now I am in the same boat. No calls in or out, no cellular data. I'm on ATT. I can receive texts and connect wifi but Apple has found a way to kill the basic functions of a phone! We need a fix or a roll back RIGHT NOW!
