Hi Joan, I have the exact same setup as you. Everything worked perfectly before the update to 17.4.1. Now I can’t stream YouTube TV or Paramount Plus. Peacock and Hulu still work fine, though. I cancelled my YouTube TV and signed up for Hulu LiveTV. I tried everything I could think of to rectify the issue but it’s a bug in the update. The same things don’t magically stop working across multiple people’s devices after updating to the same new iOS. Anyone who says it’s a hardware or connector issue thinks way too highly of critical thinking skills.

Same issue here - updated iPhone 12 to 17.4.1 and now won’t work with HDMI plug in to tv with Amazon or Netflix. Was working fine before update. Same thing happened a year ago and had to wait months before it was acknowledged by Apple as an issue and a fix released. Hoping they read all the comments and bring out a fix sooner - not happy this keeps happening, thought they would’ve learnt from last time.

Definitely an iOS 17.4.1 issue. Amazon prime video plays fine on my phone itself, but not when I plug in my lightening to HDMI cable to my phone to mirror a movie to my tv. This is beyond annoying....it is really upsetting as I've been an Apple customer for almost 40 years. ----I previously was using iOS 16.3 which worked fine and now I wish I'd never updated to the newest iOS. Exactly the same thing happened to me about a year ago as another member here also shared. It is most assuredly an Apple software issue and Apple needs to step up to the plate and get this fixed ASAP. I live in a rural area and it is very disconcerting for my wife and I to get all excited about viewing a certain movie, only to be very disappointed with the non-operation of an Apple product/device. Apple----please get this fixed!!!

Having the same issue. After updating to 17.4.1 I can no longer cast to my TV using the Apple HDMI adatper. I can't stream Amazon Prime on my TV, Hulu has no audio, video plays but no audio. Youtube movies no longer stream on my TV. All this used to work with no issues before 17.4.1 and then after it stopped working and broke. I really hope Apple addresses and fixes this issue.

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

I am having a similar issue on both my iPad (and iPhone). Before the iOS 17.4.1 update, Youtube TV and Netflix both worked fine on my iPad. After the update, Netflix would still work as before, but Youtube TV now will not work through my Apple lightning HDMI adaptor. I have tried this on several different displays, after rebooting, and after deleting and reinstalling the Youtube TV app on my iPad.

Youtube TV "support" claimed things are working "as intended".

I am not quite unhappy enough to switch to Hulu TV, especially since this could be entirely due the iOS 17.4.1 update.

Thank you for listening.
