It’s says locked to owner, it’s locked to my old gmail acc that I can no longer access

It appears that you have run into the Activation Lock. You can remove the Activation Lock by entering the password to the Apple ID (email address) that is displayed on the screen. If the iPhone is locked to YOUR Apple ID (email address) and you have forgotten that password then you can try and recover that password here 👉 If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
