Logic Pro x 10.4.4 Hangs at the end of Bouncing Full Songs and Requires Force Quit to restart App

Hi Peeps

I recently changed my iMac intel 's (Late 2013) system to Catalina. Its powerful and stocked with memory galore. Everything seemed to be working fine in Logic... Until, I decided to Bounce a tune at 48khz/24bit (which is pretty usual in my work). To start with, it ended its process (Bouncing), but just at the end of bouncing, before Normalising the Tracks, The Wheel starts turning, and nothing from that moment on will work. I have to Force Quit Logic, My file has not been Exported, or if it did (i tried) it will automatically freeze Logic if imported again for mastering, After a few attempts at bouncing tracks and freezing logic, i noticed that 48khz Wav is drastically compromised and crashes, but 44khz AIFF might just finish the work with an 80% chance the audio file is corrupted and won't open correctly in logic after. In any case It's Totally out of Logic 's Behaviour and i would love to know if one of you peeps have had the same problem and how to Fix

Thanks for your help

Things to try:

• real time bounce vs offline bounce

• don't normalize your tracks. I wouldn't use Normalize in any case because it will change the levels you set arduously.

• is the project sample rate also set to 48 khz? If not, you can bounce the project in 44,1 and convert the bounce later.

Just a question: Why did you upgrade to catalina since the Logic version 10.4.4 runs perfectly with older MacOS. You could update Logic but keep and remame the old version. So you can use both versions. Create a backup before changing anything.

Hi YoyoBen

Thanks for tips.

Yes you're right, i never normalise, but in this situation, i've touched everything. i must have left it on since... But The problem is somewhere else. it just won't finalise the bouncing operation correctly.

Thanks to you, i have tried for the very first time Realtime Bouncing (cool). Again, i tried at 24bit/44khz, that went through, but the audio file i corrupted, and then 24/48. the bounce just hangs at the end of the process. The Catalina system was installed late last year, and i think the problem came with it. it was changed as i as warned that support for High sierra has been terminated, my browser wouldn't upgrade anymore, and that certain plugin won't work anymore. So i decided to upgrade to my computer's Last possible system "Catalina". Everything else works great. I just saw last night someone mentioning that, by removing preferences to logic it had resolved His freezing track issue. I'm going to try today. Also, Would you recommend reverting to Hight Sierra ? Thanks for your time
