I am trying to get the microsoft authenticator app on my iphone 8. It keeps downloading saying "done" then goes back to me having to put my password in again. This has happened several times password is obviously ok and wifi is working, any ideas?

After a long time on Apple help with one of the callers: I think that possibly I hadn't force shut down correctly to reset the phone. Also the lady said go into media & purchases and sign out, then signed back in. Also came off of wifi and used data. Not sure which one helped but all ok. Hope this helps someone!
Is your iPhone updated to iOS 15 or higher (the highest an iPhone 8 can go is iOS 16).
Can you try to download any other app? You don't have to keep it after you download it. This is to make sure there's no issue with downloading apps or is there just an issue with the Authenticator app from Microsoft.
I'm not sure what else to suggest, except to contact Apple Support.

Just tried a few and there not working either, i did put one on this morning and that was ok but ive deleted it now. It was to join a meeting i think that was microsoft too.
