Did my Apple Watch really die?

Every morning I charge my Apple Watch SE to 100% before leaving for the day. I updated my phone this morning to the latest update as of April 2024 and after putting my watch on, my watch vibrated after about an hour and a half, that I only had 10% life left on my Watch. Just like many other comments I’ve read after an update to my watch a while back it stop keeping charges for a full day. Which is truly frustrating because it’s a digital gauge and the computer can register what it wants not really resembling that the actual device is actually dead, but will display and function in that manner. If that makes sense. It’s impossible for my watch to die in just a little over an hour. It would at least last until the evening when it usually dies even though it used to be around 40 to 50% mark pre-update. Now I’m stuck with a non working watch for the next 8 to 10 hours. This is my first Apple watch and with the look of things might be my last. I’m not a fan of these Apple updates killing the devices. It’s so frustrating.

If the battery drains too fast after an update, see all the replies to:

FWIW, in some cases, unpairing the watch, completely erasing it, then pairing and restoring the backup will resolve the battery draining issue after an update. (Simply unpairing and pairing again may not work.)

Also, some people have found that simply waiting a few days after an update resolves the battery draining problem.
