app store login does not work
I changed my iphone email address, the app on my phone still has the old address and won't let me sign in when getting a new app

Check at Settings > [name on top] > Media & Purchases. This should be your new Apple ID. When you changed your Apple ID email address, did you just log out with the old one and log in with a new one. If that was the case, any apps that were downloaded with the old Apple ID will no longer be able to be updated or redownloaded using the new Apple ID.
There is a process to change your Apple ID email address that will not require you to remove the apps downloaded with the old Apple ID. This is detailed in the Support Article, so not sure if this is the method you used.
