Contacts shut down when entering a new contact

Every time I add a new contact, the new contact screen disappears. The only way to save a contact is to save after each entry: first name (save), last name (save) address (save after each line)... You get the point. It takes forever to save a contact. This happens on my laptop and desktop.

My guess would be an issue with the iCloud synchronization. Try to turn off "Contacts" in System Settings > [your name] > iCloud. If prompted, keep your contacts. Try adding a few contacts to see if it now works. If so, repeat the procedure on the other Mac. Then reenable Contacts synchronization on both Macs.
