I replace the battery in my AirTag, low battery icon still showing and I cannot reset (cover stuck)

I replace the battery in my AirTag, low battery icon still showing, support says to reset airtag but the cover is stuck. My question, its just a falty icon, correct? the airtag has a new battery and should work fine?

It should work fine if the "new" battery is not depleted or faulty. You shouldn't need to reset the AirTag after just replacing the battery.

Regardless, you have another issue with regards to not being able to open the tag's back cover.
