Podcast App vs. Storage Issue with Syncing Downloads

I’ve set up my iPhone 12 Pro to sync Podcasts in iCloud and have plenty of space in iCloud. My 12’s iPhone Storage shows 109.52 GB of data associated with the Podcast app, of which 74.65 GB are from 939 episodes of WTF with Marc Maron.

I’m setting up my new iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone Storage shows 102.44 GB of data related to the Podcast app, but when I click on that and look at the breakdown, there’s maybe a 5-10 GB of data/episodes listed. Using the WTF example above, the 15 Pro is only showing 28 episodes amounting to 2.37 GB for WTF. When I go into the Podcast app, there are recent and sporadic episodes going back to 2014 downloaded. It’s as if the iPhone 15 has the data, but can’t connect it properly to the Podcast app.

I’ve tried restarting, reloading apps, etc., but nothing seems to get them to sync up. To be clear, it’s not just one podcast, but many that have the issue.

Any thoughts on how to address this issue?
