VHS numerisation with empia 2861 D/A converter

Hi,

I am trying to transfer some VHS videos, using an old video D/A converter announcing itself as

"eMPIA Technology, Inc. EasyCAP DC60+ [EM2861]"

when plugged on a Rasperry Pi machine. On my M1 mac, I just see

Product ID: 0x2861

Vendor ID: 0xeb1a  (Empia Technology, Inc.)

but I found no way to make this a video input for e.g. VLC or Quicktime Player movie recording.

There seems to be an audio input recognised for this device, though.

Has anybody managed to find a solution?

I'm not sure how helpful this will be, but with the specific video capture device I use, the vendor ended support for any macOS after Catalina. if I try to use it with Sonoma (for example) I see it as an audio device, but not as a video device. I need to use Catalina for it to work properly.

have you contacted the vendor to see if it is compatible with your macOS?
