Is this damage covered by Applecare+?

My Mac's bottom panel seems to be detaching from my Mac on the left side near the hinge. It doesn't affect the ability of me to use my laptop, but I am afraid that this might help my MacBook fall apart in the long term. Is this covered by AppleCare Plus? If it is classified as cosmetic damage and not eligible, can I fix this myself without voiding my AppleCare?

My Mac's battery health is good, and I carry my M1 MBA in my bag that I use for school.

In the absence of any physical damage, I would suggest that the battery is swollen. If this is the case, it should be covered by AppleCare +. I would suggest to have the issue evaluated as soon as possible.
