My Airpods Pro generate a crackling noise. Apple issued a recall for this issue, but they refused to do anything for mine because their manufacture date does not fall in certain period of time.

I bought my AirPods Pro (1st generation) in 2022 and they performed well until 4/10/2024 when the right one suddenly started to have a crackling noise if set to noise cancellation. I searched online and found out that this is obviously a known design or quality problem. Apple had issued a recall for them. I followed Apple’s online information to get my AirPods serviced.

First, I schedule an appointment with a local Apple store. I learnt there that they would not do anything for me except selling a new one to me for $89. She said AirPods Pro’s with the crackling noise issue have been recalled but mine don’t fall in the specific manufacture dates. The clerk who had my AirPods checked there was not helpful at all.

Then I called the Apple Support and I was asked to visit a local Apple Store.

I am trapped in a loop. Can someone help please?
