After ending a call in GoogleMeet, the system microphone “breaks” in other applications (Discord, Skype, Slack, etc.): the microphone sensitivity becomes about 0 and I cannot be heard.

To fix this problem, you have to completely close the Safari application and the application that can use the microphone (Discord, Skype, Slack, etc.).

Reproducible in 100% of cases when using the Safari + GoogleMeet combination (Google Chrome + GoogleMeet does not cause such problems).

Microphone only working for Safari - no other apps Hey guys, for some reason my microphone only works for Safari but no other apps. I already tried restarting, resetting the input audio setting via terminal and also tried third party software. Nothing helps. Seems like Safari is somehow blocking any other app from accessing the microphone. Even in the system preferences the microphone is not working, only in Safari. and even its working for siri commands I couldn't find anything online so hoping that you can help me.

Microphone not working on Google Hangouts using Safari since 10.15.4 upgrade Hi , As per above - Hangouts was using my mic on Safari no problem last weekend but now no-one on the call can hear my audio (video is OK and broadcasting fine, but its silent). This seems to be isolated just to Safari - Hangouts mic works fine on Chrome, and all other apps can hear me on the mic (FaceTime, QuickTime etc.) so its not hardware related. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Obviously using Chrome is the interim workaround but its annoying when previously all was fine in Safari. Thanks in advance.

Big Sur -sound distortion from online video chats over Safari Using Safari for online chats or Telehealth appts. When the other party speaks, I hear a static-like clicking as if the microphone just picks up the initial sound of each word. And then! After a few seconds of them speaking, somehow the distortion is cleared and I can hear them speaking. This only happens with live voice speaking. YouTube videos and Zoom are fine, and over Firefox browser also fine. Support was not able to help.
