X/Twitter account created with Apple ID links to email address I don't have access to.

Hello, so for the past few days I've been trying to change my X account password due to me forgetting it. Until there, normal, until I reached out to the page to change my password, which for some reason links to an e-mail address - which according to their description is this "6k********@p***********.*******.***", I assume this is some sort of anonymous fallback e-mail my Apple ID created just for that account? Whenever I try to contact support with my standard Gmail address it just says it's wrong. Can someone help me with that?

i figured it out. Basically use your browser option. Then Sign in with Apple. Make your to the to any way where you can request for a new password. Click forgot password. Do all that. Then the code should be sent to your spam account. Also to find this email go to Apple ID in settings there should be a tittle with iCloud + then hide my email underneath click on that. Scroll down to x and there you’ll find the email

You cannot sign in to an account or reset a password for which was system generated by “hide my email” after hide my email has been disabled. It does not switch back to being visable with your apple ID email, even if you were logged in this way. It is not retrievable. It is worthless. For future users, my only tip would be, don’t use hide my email. Just create a email account for situations. Otherwise, this feature creates more inconveniences than security long term. Hard pass going forward.

As I said, if you did use the Sign in with Apple, check the iCloud Keychain on your Apple account for the relevant email and password that was created for the web site.

It appears I was wrong, and Sign in with Apple does work from a Windows PC. Still, if that was used, than the email and password created will be stored in the iCloud Keychain.

Not sure how you forgot a password you should not have possibly known to begin with.

If you used "Sign in with Apple", the email account and password are generated automatically for you by the service and stored in your iCloud Keychain.

You can refer to them at any time by accessing your Keychain password list from an Apple device signed into your Apple ID.

If this happened on a Windows computer, then Apple has nothing to do there. You must have created your Twitter account some other way to generate that email address. You cannot use Sign in with Apple from a Windows PC.

You can also log in to https://icloud.com and see all your email addresses that were created under "Hide My Email" for the "Sign in with Apple" option.

I thought it was my standard Apple ID password and not a generated password Apple creates when using "Sign in with Apple ID". I had put that password on the account thinking it would possibly be correct, on other accounts such as Gmail, it asks for you to insert a new password. During setup I want to be clear that I have not clicked the option to hide my email while logging in.

Before any questioning, it asked me if I wanted to hide the email. Which I opted to not do it.

Google would have been a different case, it would use my e-mail, but would ask me if I wanted to create a password, I signed up with Apple, it asked me for my e-mail and Apple ID password, which I rightfully prompted it in. Asked me if I wanted to make my e-mail anonymous, clicked on No, and here I am. X did not even try to ask me to create a password for the account, at all.

Not to mention I am in a Windows PC, and it asks me if I want to sign in with Apple. Which I find odd, considering you mentioned "It's not possible."
