Photo albums from my iPhone don't sync with my Mac Photos App

Environment: I've an iPhone 12 Pro running iOS 15.6.1 and I've an old iMac running the last software release supported by Apple (MacOS Catalina v10.15.7). Apple is no longer releasing a new software upgrade for my iMac. My photo library is ~ 120GB and i don't use iCloud Photos.

I created various albums on my iPhone Photos App and added photos and videos to those albums. When i tried to sync and back up my Photos from iPhone Photos App to Mac Photos App (system library), all the photos from iPhone Photos app synced to Mac Photos app but the album (folder structure) were not carried over and the photos were added to the Mac photo library without being organized in the album structure just like my iPhone.

How do i sync my album / folder structure from my iPhone Photos App to my Mac Photos App when i take backup to organize and maintain photos on my Mac just like on my iPhone?
