Apple CarPlay Password

I’m trying to connect my IPhone to the Wi-Fi in my Mini and it is asking for a password that I don’t have. Where do I go to find this please?

iPhone 11, iOS 17

there shouldn't be a password specifically for Apple CarPlay itself. CarPlay uses your car's existing infotainment system, so you likely are encountering a password for your car's Wi-Fi network.

Here are a couple of possibilities:

Car Wi-Fi Password: The password you need might be for the Wi-Fi hotspot functionality built into your car. This would be a password you likely set up during the initial setup of your car's infotainment system. Consult your car's manual or search online for your car's model and "Wi-Fi password" to see if there are instructions for finding the password.

iPhone Wi-Fi Settings:** CarPlay itself doesn't require a separate password on your iPhone. However, it might be using your phone's existing Wi-Fi connection to connect to the car. Double-check that your iPhone's Wi-Fi is turned on and connected to the correct network in your car (which might be a separate network from your home Wi-Fi). You can find these settings under: Settings > Wi-Fi on your iPhone.

If you're still having trouble after checking these, there could be an issue with CarPlay or your car's system. Here are some additional resources that might help:
