Extra Sensor on iPad Pro Camera Bump?

This question has been on my mind since the “Let Loose” event. In all of the promotional footage in the event I was noticing that the sensors on the back of the new iPad Pro models have changed a lot. I know about the removal of the Ultrawide camera on the back of course, and I know that the new models have a True Tone flash, slightly improved wide camera, and LiDAR Scanner. You can also make out the microphone just under the Flash. However, there is one strange black circle just above the new flash. It wasn’t even mentioned in the event, and no one has been talking about it! Am I the only one who’s noticed this? It looks like an extra sensor of some kind, not a camera. It’s on the real models being bought today, not just the promotional footage. And one more thing, this scanner or sensor of some sort has been intentionally removed from sight in Apple’s official product specification page. Apple showcases a side view of the camera bump on the spec sheet, seemingly to hide the sensor. I find this whole thing very strange. Does anyone have answers? Reviews are just starting to roll out about the products, so I’ll make sure to look out for any information about it. In the meantime, I’d like to know if anyone else has been more successful than me in figuring out what this thing is.
