this setting cannot be changed becayse your Apple ID is missing age information

I am trying to play games to earn points as well. I found a work around until Apple fixes it. If you go to settings and click on your Apple ID up top, then go to media & purchases and sign out THERE ONLY. The tracking will be enabled. The only caveat is to access Apple Store you’ll have to sign back in and out.

Same here. All ok until I updated to 17.5. Logging out the App Store, restarting, then logging back in worked for a bit, but then the tracking notification popped up again and now nothing works to enable the setting again. Super frustrating.

I join this problem. Before updating to iOS 17.5 everything worked fine. Signing out and signing out of your Apple ID does not solve the problem.

I understand, the OP specifically mentioned when logging into Facebook, so the reply was directed at them with the additional information provided. The point though applies to all apps and sometimes users don't realize exactly what they are giving up or know how they can view in the App Store what data an app is collecting on them.

As for the issue of it being greyed out, there has not been a single solution that has worked for all. Some users claim that signing out of their Apple ID and signing back in has worked, but others say it don't. It will most likely be an update that Apple can do on their backend servers or a point update to iOS. We will have to wait and see.

Not sure why you would want to further give up your personal information by allowing tracking for the trinkets that they would give you. You can see on the Privacy Page in the App Store that Facebook already collects:

• Financial Info
• Contacts
• Browsing History
• Sensitive Info
• Purchases
• Search History
• Location
• User Content

You have become the product with your information being sold. This is how Facebook reported $36 billion dollars in revenue just last quarter by selling your personal information. Do you really want companies to gather all this information about you and continue to track you?

The same thing happened with my apps. It will not let me change to allow tracking on games I play to earn items and gift cards. It happened after the update of 17.5. Apple needs to fix this problem!

I have the same problem, I can't turn on “Allow Apps to Request to Track” because it says “This setting cannot be changed because your Apple ID is missing age information”. This happened after iOS 17.5. Any solutions?

The same thing happened to me. Logging out and back in didn't work. Super frustrating.

I am having the same issue as well. I have signed out and in of apple. Turned phone off and back on multiple times. Still not allowing the tracking to work.

Having similar issue. I am playing a game to earn SwagBucks. Suddenly found that app tracking is off so my progress cannot be tracked. I am running iOS 17.4.1.

Same issue here, no known fix found yet, and I use tracking as someone else does to play a game to earn points on another app. My birthday is in my Apple ID, so this is super irritating
