How do I archive emails on my mac before deleting from the server? My mailbox is getting full, but I do not wish to delete emails from the server before saving them locally. In Outlook, I had the option to create archive folders "on my computer". (locally) Is there any similar option for Apple Mail? On My Mac mails disappeared After formatting and reinstalling Mac OS, I could reinstall the Mail app, but the mails that I have archived on On My Mac were gone. Are they not saved on TM (Time Machine) ?

Create On My Mac folders, Copy the eMails you wish to save to the new On My Mac folders, then Delete the moved eMails & empty the Trash, then If you have no POP accounts & they’re all IMAP accounts then in Mail’s Mailbox menu choose Rebuild.
