Mac Book Air OS14.5 Messages address shown in red. Can't send.

For some "new" reason - perhaps associated with Sonoma OS14.5, now Messages to some of my contacts who do not have non-Apple phones are not able to be sent. The name shows up in RED letters. Is there some setting I need to change to enable sending from my MacBook Air to non-Apple phones?

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding and make sure the setting for your Mac is activated. If it is, deactivate it, reboot both the iPhone and Mac, and reactivate the setting.
