I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I updated it to 17.5.1 and I have a problem with notifications not appearing from all applications such as messages - the messages are there but without alerts, bell, or even appearing on the main screen.

I have iPhone 12 (new) but notifications for messages not working after update to 17.5.1
Exactly the same issue. Works when I have my Apple Watch on me but if it’s locked and charging. I even get the banner and I turned on the led light to flash as the notifications are silenced.
since I put my phone down screen side up I miss the flash!
wth did Apple change in what was a short update from 17.4.1. Only 300mb for me to download and install it.
bug fixes introduced more bugs.
Any workaround for this issue? It is major bug and my phone is useless without being able to receive not only messages but critical alerts from apps I have installed?
If I have to reinstall all apps I need I prefer to do it on another brand…

Even with new updates still the issue. To fix this maybe I have to buy a Samsung phone. I don't want new usless features. Just notifications. I am starting to hate iPhone for this.
